Buying and managing a second home in Japan

They are an American couple from North Carolina. They bought a detached house in the city of Sakai. They can park a car in the parking spot. They can get an international driving license at AAA in the U.S. It’s valid for a year. He occasionally visits Japan and his favorite place is Dotonbori. Every time he visits Japan he stays at Dotonbori’s hotel. The train line in Sakai is served to Dobonbori directly, no transfer is needed. The semi-express train makes a stop at the nearest station so it’s good access to Dotonbori.

He works for himself as an IT engineer so the location doesn’t matter. He chose Osaka, Japan as a second home town. He is a super nice man. I opened the all of utilities for them so they can move in anytime. They don’t have to stay at a hotel anymore. Non Japanese can stay in Japan without visa up to 3 months. They are preparing to move and started looking for furniture and equipments on line, IKEA. IKEA has an English site so they can order online in English. I took them to the property to measure the sizes. People in the neighborhood are very nice. They should be able to join the local community as well.

My company can manage their property while they are in the U.S. The property tax needs to be paid once a year and the bill is sent to my office. They don’t have to worry about failing to pay the tax. Wise is used to transfer the funds between Japan and the U.S. The fee is very affordable. Bank to bank is also available. They leave the utility open so the equipment and pipes don’t get damaged. I will take care of them. The base fees are also inexpensive.
