This gentleman is from FL U.S. He was born in FL and grew up. What we call, he is ABC( Amecican born Chinese) He purchased a high end condo in the bayarea 10 months ago. We met at the Chinese restaurant to catch up in Osaka.
Since so many Chinese immigrants live in here in Osaka the Chinese food is not Japanese version Chinese food.Authentic Chinese food in Osaka thrives because of the huge Chinese population. He doesn’t have to visit China to have an authentic Chinese cuisine.
The establishment’s target is not Japanese but Chinese. When I visit a foreign country I don’t go to Japanese restaurant. I usually visit a local restaurant to face the country’s culture. A lot of immigrants are aging. They tend to have their own cuisine instead of the local Japanese food.
The restaurant was packed. Without a reservation we would have had to wait for hours.
Osaka is getting diversified. Absolutely foreign friendly mega city. The workplaces such as, convenience store, construction site, assisted nursing facility, more workforces are non-Japanese.
