This is the Japanese real estate investment success story named Eric.
The gentlemen next to me, his name is Eric from Manila Philippines. He has been interested in Japanese culture since he was little. He wanted to have some ties with Japan. He determined to be a landlord of the Japanese property.
As he is from Philippines he can speak English. Because he wanted to see inside a house he chose a vacant house instead of an already tenanted one. By the way if you purchase an already tenanted property you will gain a rent income right after the ownership is transferred. He wanted to check the condition of the house and started looking for a tenant.
In Japan, even rich foreign people have a hard time to rent a property. Some landlords are hesitant to rent out to non-Japanese people because of the language barrier and different culture.
He let me manage his property so anybody who can speak English can be applicant for his property. Right after he purchase the property rich American people contacted me and they are looking for a rent property in the city of Osaka and want to keep some pets.
I informed him there is an applicant who are not Japanese and wants to keep pets. We decided to let them keep pets by taking some deposits. We have reached agreement for the lease.
Now his investment is doing well. He is trying to found a company in Japan. He is looking for another property. This time office and house combined. The first floor office and 2nd and 3rd floors are for them to live.
