On December 16, the Ministry of Justice of Japan announced that it will introduce a system requiring individuals to provide their nationality information when acquiring real estate, such as land or buildings.
This requirement will apply at the time of ownership transfer registration, including transactions through sale, inheritance, or other forms of transfer.
Both Japanese nationals and foreign nationals will be subject to this requirement.

日本法務省於 12 月 16 日 宣布，未來個人在取得土地或建築物等不動產時，將必須提供「國籍資訊」。
此規定適用於所有權移轉登記，包含買賣、繼承及其他形式的所有權移轉。
日本國籍人士與外國籍人士皆為適用對象。

法務省の方針：
法務省は2025年12月16日、土地や建物など不動産を取得する際に所有者の「国籍情報」の提供を義務付ける制度を導入する方針を発表しました。売買・相続などの登記申請時に国籍の記入欄が新設され、パスポートや住民票などの本人確認書類の提出も求められる予定です。日本人も含めた全ての個人が対象となります。
