There was an earthquake yesterday January 1st 2024. The epicenter is Ishikawa prefecture which  is 400km away from Osaka.Unfortunately human losses have been confirmed. A fire broke out in the city of Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture. I feel so sorry for their family. The natural disaster is a very touchy subject for me.

U.S. President Joe Biden said the United States would provide any necessary assistance it could.

“As close allies, the United States and Japan share a deep bond of friendship that unites our people. Our thoughts are with the Japanese people during this difficult time,” he said in a statement.

The tsunami warning has been downgraded. It’s the only good news.

I manage a bunch of properties in all over Osaka. No report came in from the tenants. None of them is damaged. The Japanese houses are well built for an earthquake. The scientists kept warning not to pump up the water from the ground in that area. It could be the reason for the earthquake.

Some property owners contacted me to make sure their properties are okay or not. They are okay. All of the properties I manage are insured for an earthquake.

If you are thinking about purchasing a house located in Japan please add the earthquake plan as well. Again, the properties in Japan are well prepared for earthquake but an earthquake insurance is must.
