These are Japanese anime figures. Like many non-japanese, anime is one of her favorite hobby. Good benefit to be in Japan physically. You can get almost everything in Den Den town. Den Den town is next to Dotonbori. Huge electronics area. Den means electronics in Japanese.
These are questions I asked
How long have you been in Japan?
I have been in Japan for about two years now. I was previously here for a few months in the past and also many years ago for engineering studies.
What brought you to Japan?
The overall culture. I also applied for a job working in the country and was accepted. There is a lot to love about this country. People being mindful of others, efficient public transportation,
The reason you left Tokyo for Osaka?
Osaka is where I originally studied and where I fell in love with what Japan has to offer. As well, the vibe of the people in Osaka is very similar to where I grew up. The people are very open with each other and willing to communicate.
Did you accept the pay cut compared to the U.S.?
I did.
If so, why? is it worth going to Japan?
I don't chase money. I chase dreams. Moving to Japan is just another step on realizing one of those dreams.
How is the work culture? Do you have to stay long? I understand you work at home.
The work culture at the company I work for is quite good. We do have a work from home program, but the office can only hold half of the total number of employees in the company.
What is the ratio of the Japanese and non-Japanese?
There are plenty of Japanese people in the company, but there are also many people from around the world. The company I work for is in the internet technology sector so we hire internationally to be able to reach an international audience.
How is Japanese food? Is there any difference between Tokyo and Osaka?
The food in Osaka is definitely better than other places. However, there is a lack of variety in the native food that is available. It can be really hard to recreate a favorite dish here in Japan simply because the super market will not have the ingredients available.
Are you going to stay in Japan the rest of your life?
I'm going to try to!
What is it like to be an English speaking white person in Japan? Any racism do you feel?
That is a hard one to answer. I do my best to fit in and act like I belong. There are plenty of foreigners that have experienced racism, but I can't personally say that I have since I mostly keep to myself.
Seems she really feels comfortable living in Osaka Japan.
